Recognizing this pressing need, a growing number of Philippine private companies have taken steps to bolster their cybersecurity defenses. In February 2020, a notable 43% of private companies in the country increased their investments in cybersecurity solutions.
To combat the rising threat of cyber attacks, businesses have been adopting various measures. Approximately 86% of these companies utilize anti-malware/antivirus tools, while 59% have implemented next-generation firewalls for enhanced network security. According to the Asia Cloud Computing Association's 2020 report, the Philippines was ranked 11 out of 14 Asian countries, indicating the need for increased efforts in adopting cloud technologies.
