Childhood violence often goes unreported, leaving many cases hidden and victims without the support they need. Efforts are underway to address this issue by establishing hotlines and raising awareness about available resources for children facing violence. One such hotline is Makabata 1383, providing a vital avenue for children to access support. Shockingly, a majority of children, approximately 7 out of 10, are unaware of the resources available to them in the face of violence. It is crucial to recognize that experiencing violence at a young age can have long-lasting impacts on a child's life, emphasizing the importance of providing them with the necessary support and assistance.

Mistreatment, whether it be physical, emotional, or psychological, can have significant repercussions on an individual's well-being. Such mistreatment can manifest in various ways, leading to behavioral, physiological, and emotional issues that may persist into the future. The effects of mistreatment can be far-reaching, impacting the individual's mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life. It is essential to address and prevent mistreatment to safeguard the long-term well-being and development of individuals, fostering a healthier and more compassionate society.

Children who are often against the government often experience injustice and unfair treatment, leading to profound consequences that can impact their lives from a young age. Such circumstances can result in the ruination of many promising futures. When children are subjected to unfair treatment and denied their rights, it hampers their growth, stifles their potential, and undermines their ability to thrive. It is crucial to address these issues, ensuring that every child receives fair and just treatment, with their rights and well-being protected, allowing them to flourish and contribute positively to society.

In collaboration with UNICEF, the Philippines is actively engaged in efforts to address and prevent violence against children through the implementation of the Philippines Plan of Action To End Violence Against Children (PPAEVAC). This comprehensive roadmap serves as a guideline to combat violence, protect children's rights, and fight against injustice. Recognizing the significance of collective action, the plan calls on communities to work together, involving non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), the private sector, and communities at large. The primary focus of the plan is to tackle these issues at their roots, addressing the underlying causes and implementing effective measures to eliminate violence and ensure the well-being of every child in the Philippines.
